Γεννήθηκε στα Χανιά από τον Αντώνιο Φαντάκη και την ………..Είχε άλλα πέντε αδέλφια, τον Γεώργιο, τον Μάρκο, τον Αντώνιο…Νυμφεύτηκε την Ειρήνη Δαμίγου και απέκτησαν τέσσερα παιδιά: την Τριανταφυλλιά (απεβίωσε δύο ετών), την Ελευθερία, την Αθηνά και τον Γεώργιο.
Εκτελέστηκε από τους Γερμανούς στις 13-12-1943 στην Λάκκα του Καπή.
