Γεννήθηκε στην Κερπινή Καλαβρύτων από τον Γεώργιο Στεφανόπουλο και την Μαρία Καλαποδά. Είχε άλλα έξι αδέλφια: την Τρισεύγενη, την Βαρβάρα, την Βιολέτα, την Ελένη, την Ουρανία και τον Χρήστο.
Νυμφεύτηκε την Αγγελική Γιόξα και απέκτησαν τέσσερα παιδιά: την Έλλη, τον Γεώργιο, την Μαρία και τον Δημήτριο.
Εκτελέστηκε από τους Γερμανούς στις 8 Δεκεμβρίου 1943 στην Κερπινή.
